Adjustable Height Saddle Stool with Back Support
An adjustable height saddle stool with a back is essential for me. I love to cook and prepare food in the kitchen but I cannot stand or walk unaided. The back support provides additional security and peace of mind for me because my core muscles are not as strong. Now I can still enjoy my favourite hobby.
The stool is like a horse’s saddle on wheels. It allows me to do things that I once thought were going to be impossible and it is very stable

Something had to change
When I realised that I couldn’t stand on my feet and prepare food or cook a meal then I needed a solution. This adjustable height saddle stool with back support provides just the solution. Now I can sit on a chair and adjust the height. It is on wheels so I can easily move around the kitchen. Also I tire quickly because of the MS but the chair allows me to conserve my energy and cook an entire meal without having a take rest
Saddle stool benefits
The design of the comfortable saddle stool encourages better posture. The contoured back support helps to relieve back strain and provide support vital because my core muscles are weak. I can easily change the height of the seat to anything between 22.5 inches to 30.5 inches just by using a hand lever. I can pick some thing off a low shelf in a cupboard or easily lift a plate from a high shelf. The stool is on a 5 wheel base so I can easily change the direction of the seat simply by moving my feet on the floor
My old life returned
Using the adjustable height saddle stool:
- I can get saucepans out of cupboards and food out of the fridge without fear of falling over.
- Moving around the kitchen is now exercise.
- Balance is essential to sit on the stool so it will strengthen my core muscles.
- I can raise the seat so now I can be at the same height as other people when I talk to them without standing on my feet.
To summarise
I have foot-drop and very bad balance so I must use a walking aid such as a rollator. I walk unsteadily and very slowly because my legs are weak. Now I can cook in the kitchen again thanks to a adjustable height saddle stool. The saddle stool has given me back a part of my life that I thought I had lost for ever.
Living with MS always is always a compromise. The saddle stool has restored something that is very important to me, independence in the kitchen.
